Mere hours after reappearing on the Steam store, consumers started reporting issues similar to those which first plagued the game at its release four months ago, like severe frame-rate drops and game crashes. Warner Bros. was quick to respond to these complaints, issuing the following statement on their blog:

The blog post also offers suggestions for PC components to help the game run more efficiently, though many comments have revealed that even these specifications are not universally effective.

Besides its initial backlash from PC consumers back in June, Rocksteady’s third Arkham installment had gained some infamy prior to its release due to controversial marketing for its season pass.

Back in April, Warner Bros. announced the $40 season pass without supplying concrete details on the content. This hefty price for unknown content led to something of an uproar among consumers and the press alike, even after details on the planned DLC were revealed.

Long before DLC debates and PC problems, Batman: Arkham Knight was already causing a stir back in 2014.

At E3 2014, Rocksteady advertised the game to be a fall 2014 title, with a release date of October 14th. Days after the convention, they announced that Batman: Arkham Knight would be delayed eight months. Many felt this came across as somewhat disingenuous–that Rocksteady must have known long before their E3 presentation that the game would not be ready by October.

Needless to say, Batman: Arkham Knight has been a magnet for controversy since its unveiling.
